Facebook. The massive social media organisation is never far away from the news for one reason or another. But one thing I am not seeing them being reported on, is how Facebook might potentially be involved in fraud, either before or after the fact.

Internet scams are nothing new. And one in particular has been doing the rounds for some time now, citing all sorts of names and television programs, while Facebook and Twitter take payment for hosting ads for the scammers. I’m not due for another rant until next week however this latest breaking news is just too good an opportunity to pass up.

As I have previously noted, the House of Representatives in the Australian Parliament is overseen by the Speaker, a role filled by someone elected from the body of Members of the House. Once someone is appointed to the role of Speaker, they are REQUIRED to be a neutral arbiter over debate and parliamentary procedure.
